Have you ever chopped an onion and can't seem to get the smell off your hands?  Try washing your hands with dishwash detergent or antibacterial soap.  Form  a lather in your hands and then rub it on your stainless steel faucet (stainless steel silverware will work as well) rub your hands through and over the faucet, getting between your fingers as well, and voila!  the scent is gone!  I have used this method for years and it works!
